A
ABA Routing Number
The 9-digit number (8 digits and a check verification digit) that identifies a specific financial institution. Also referred to as a Financial Institution Routing Number or Routing Transit Number. Back to top
Account Mask Information
Editing criteria used to verify the accuracy of a payee's account number in certain electronic payment transactions. Back to top
Account Type
List of accounts available online. May include checking, savings, NOW, money market, and certificate of deposit (CD) accounts, credit cards, or loans. Back to top
Alert Method
Means of delivery for the alert message. Options include only Online Banking or Personal E-mail & Online Banking Message. Back to top
Alert Type
Short description of the conditions that cause an alert to be sent. Back to top
Alerts
Messages automatically sent to alert you when certain transactions have been processed, if a scheduled transaction fails to be processed, when a specified balance has been reached, or when certificates of deposit (CDs) are maturing. Back to top
Amount
The amount to be paid for each bill. Back to top
Authentication
The process that determines the identity of a party. Back to top
Authorization
An agreement between a receiver and originator that allows the originator to initiate debits and/or credits to a receiver's account. Back to top
Automated Clearing House (ACH)
Funds transfer system governed by NACHA Operating Rules, which provide for clearing of electronic transactions between participating financial institutions. Back to top
Available Balance
The amount of funds available to you for withdrawal or transfer. This balance is equal to the current balance minus any funds being held in reserve until transactions clear. Back to top
Available Credit
The amount of funds available to you for withdrawal. For credit cards, this balance is equal to the credit limit minus the credit in use. For home equity or revolving credit loans, this balance is equal to the credit limit minus the outstanding principal balance. Back to top
B
Bank Routing Number
The number that uniquely identifies a bank for payment processing. Also referred to as an ABA Number or Routing Transit Number. Back to top
Bill Detail
Information from a payee that provides line-level account information. This may include specific billing event information such as credit card charges, telephone calls, or kilowatts used. Back to top
Bill Payment
Online Banking feature that enables you to conveniently pay bills from your accounts online. Back to top
Bill/Invoice
An electronic or paper document indicating that a payment is due. Back to top
Billing Cycle
The frequency with which a bill is received from a payee. Back to top
Billing Questions
The phone number of your payee's billing department. Back to top

Category
Transaction categories can help you organize your transactions. Category information can be used to sort your transactions on online reports. There are standard categories and custom categories you define. Back to top
Charge
Amount withdrawn from your account as part of a transaction. Back to top
Check Number
The check number if a check was issued for this payment or the electronic funds transfer (EFT) number if the transaction was an electronic payment. Back to top
Checks
A written order to a financial institution to pay the amount specified from funds on deposit; also known as a draft. Back to top
Cleared
The date the transaction was posted to your bank account. Back to top
Cleared Bank Transactions
Some banks only maintain the last 30 or 60 days of transactions on their website. We will download and display the same number of transactions as your bank allows for downloads and let you know how many days of transactions appear. Back to top
Completed Transaction
A transaction which has cleared or that we have finished processing. Back to top
Credit
An entry to the record of an account representing the transfer or placement of funds into an account. Back to top
Credit In Use
Today's starting balance plus or minus any current-day transactions that have not yet completed or cleared. Back to top
Credit Limit
Maximum amount of credit extended to you for this account. Back to top
Credits
Amount deposited into your account as part of a transaction. Back to top
CSV
Comma-separated-values file format for use in spreadsheet programs. For Windows customers, this file format can be used with any spreadsheet program. For Macintosh customers, this file format can only be used with Microsoft Excel�. Back to top
Current Balance
Current Cash Advance APY
The current annual percentage yield for credit card cash advances. Back to top
Current Purchase APY
The current annual percentage yield for credit card purchases. Back to top
Custom Category
Custom categories are transaction categories you have created for your use. Category information can be used to organize your transactions and to sort them on online reports. Custom categories can be added, edited, and deleted. Back to top
Customer
An individual or entity that receives goods or services that are subject to bills, invoices, or statements. The typical receiver of a bill. Back to top

Data Transmission
The electronic exchange of information between 2 or more data processing points. Back to top
Debit
An entry to request transfer or withdrawal of funds from an account. Back to top
Debit Transaction
A payment transaction originated by a payee for which you have authorized us to withdraw funds from your account. Back to top

E-mail Address
Location to which an electronic mail message can be delivered. E-mail addresses cannot be longer than 64 characters. A 2- or 3-character extension after the period is required. For example, [email protected]. Back to top
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
Electronic payment such as ACH or wire transfer. Back to top
Electronic Payment
Any non-paper type of payment. Back to top
Encryption
Computer-generated algorithm that allows secure communication between parties. Back to top
External Transfer
A movement of funds between an account at our financial institution and an account at another financial institution. Back to top
F
Federal Reserve
Central bank of the United States that sets monetary policy and provides services to financial institutions. Back to top
Filed Bill
A bill that you do not want to pay using this website, but want to save for your records. For example, a bill with a zero balance or a bill that no longer needs to be paid. Once you file a bill, it is permanently removed from your Bill Inbox and cannot be paid. Back to top
Financial Institution (FI)
A state or federally-chartered depository institution, such as a bank, savings and loan, or credit union. Back to top
Frequency
Used to define how often that you want to make a credit card payment or transfer. Options include: Annually, Biweekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semiannually, Twice a month, and Weekly. Twice-a-month payments and transfers are processed on the start date and approximately every 15 days thereafter. Scheduled payment or transfer dates that occur on holidays and/or weekends are processed the following business day. There may be more, or less, than 2, twice-a-month payments or transfers in some months depending on the start date, length of the month, and whether the scheduled date falls on a holiday or weekend. Funding Account Description
A description you assign to the funding account to identify it. Back to top

Messages
Online Banking messages sent to you from us. These messages do not travel outside of Online Banking ensuring the security of confidential data such as account numbers or tax IDs. Unlike e-mail, these messages can only be read when logged in to Online Banking. Back to top
N
Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF)
Insufficient funds available to settle a payment. Back to top
Notification Of Change (NOC)
An ACH entry that notifies an originator that information contained in an entry is incorrect or erroneous. Back to top

Outstanding Principal
The remaining principal balance on a loan not including interest or other charges. Back to top
P
Paid from
The payment account that will be used for this payment. Back to top
Password
A sequence of characters that you must input to gain access to Online Banking. An Online Banking password is case sensitive and must include both letters and numbers. It must be at least 6 characters in length and cannot include more than 32 characters. It cannot begin or end with a space and cannot include a single quotation mark, a double quotation mark, a comma, a greater-than symbol, or a less-than symbol. Back to top
Payee
A company or organization that sends you a bill, invoice, or statement, usually a request for payment for a product or service. Back to top
Payee Description
The payee name associated with payment of a bill. Back to top
Payee Nickname
A description you assign to identify a payee. Back to top
Payee User ID or Account Number
The account information that you use to log in to your payee's website. Back to top
Payment
Payment Authorizations/Instructions
Instructions for routing/posting the payment. For example, instructions indicating the bank account into which payments should be deposited. Back to top
Payment Category
The group that you assign to a payee during setup. Back to top
Payment Instructions
Payment Outbox
The scheduled payments, including those you approved and those you scheduled for automatic payment. Back to top
Payment Posted Date
The date on which a payment is posted to an account. Back to top
Payments System
A system or network used to process payments. Back to top
Posting
The process of recording debits and credits to account balances. Back to top

Received From
The payee for each item. If you specified a nickname for the payee, that name is displayed. Back to top
Recurring Credit Card Payments
Payments that you want to repeat at regular intervals. Back to top
Recurring External Transfers
Recurring transfers are funds transfers between an account at our financial institution and one at another financial institution that you want to repeat at regular intervals. Back to top

Recurring Transfers

Repeating Payment
Number of instances determines the total number of payments that will be made. Back to top
Reversals
An ACH entry or file sent with required deadlines to correct or reverse a previously originated duplicate or erroneous entry or file. Back to top

Scheduled Transactions
Transactions that are pending completion or are awaiting processing. Back to top
Secured Socket Layer (SSL)
A security protocol to enable encrypted, authenticated communications across the Internet. Back to top
Send On
The date that each payment will be initiated to the payee. This is also the date on the check. Back to top
Send To
The nickname for the payee. Back to top
Sent
The date the payment was sent to the payee. Back to top
Standard Category
Standard categories are general transaction categories we have created for all customers to use. Category information can be used to organize your transactions and to sort them on online reports. Standard categories cannot be added, edited, or deleted. Back to top
Starting Balance
The daily starting balance in your account. The previous day's transactions are posted and the account balanced to create the new starting balance. Back to top
Statement/Notice
An electronic or paper document sent to you that does not have a payment due associated with it. Back to top
Statements
An account statement delivered electronically. Back to top
Stop a Check
Request to stop payment on one or more checks. Typically, these requests are made when a check has been lost or stolen. Back to top
T
Tax Item
Identifies whether the transactions of a category are either taxable or tax-deductible. This information is used to organize and sort transactions. Back to top
Transaction Date
The date the transaction cleared or the date the transaction is scheduled to be completed. Back to top
Transaction Description
The first line of information is a short description of the transaction. The following information may also be displayed: Scheduled transaction. For scheduled transfers or bill payments, the date the next transaction is scheduled to be processed. Scheduled transaction in process. Bill payments scheduled today for which processing is not yet completed. Transaction not yet cleared. Transactions posted today for which processing is not yet completed. Category information. If you are able to assign categories to completed transactions, this information is displayed. For transactions split across categories, Split is displayed. Back to top
Transfer

Unpaid Bills
Bills that appear in your Bill Inbox on which you have not taken any action. Back to top
User ID
A unique set of characters identifying an Online Banking user. User ID is case sensitive and must include both letters and numbers. It cannot begin or end with a space and cannot include a single quotation mark, a pipe, a backslash, a greater-than symbol, or a less-than symbol. Back to top
